Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy
This privacy policy ("policy") will help you understand how GrabTheTickets  ("us", "we", "our") uses and protects the data you provide to us when you visit and use our system.

We reserve the right to change this policy at any given time, when this happens, the next time you log in, you will be advised of the change by an online notification. If you want to make sure that you are up to date with the latest changes, you are very welcome to visit this page as often as you like.

What User Data We Collect
When you visit the website, we may collect the following data:

Your IP address. We mainly use this to help us work out what computer servers are likely to be closest to you to keep performance high. We can also use it to help with spam counter measures and to help anticipate which primary language to display the site in, when we have more translations.

Your contact information and email address. We need this so we can send you a validation email when joining up, to contact you if there is a problem with your account (for example you have lost your password and need us to send you a new one). Also if an Event Organiser notifies us that an Event which you have purchased tickets for, has changed, we can attempt to contact you to make you aware of the change.

Your password (stored in an encrypted form). We need this so we can make sure your account is secure and only YOU can access it. Please try to use a unique password for each site you use - then if ever one site is compromised, they do not have access to EVERYTHING of yours. This is your choice, but for your safety, we do urge you NOT to use the same password for multiple sites.

Other OPTIONAL information such as Bank Account information IF you are a Promoter / Agent and wish us to pay you directly and electronically. If you prefer, these fields may be left blank and we can discuss payment by telephone when payments are due to you.

Why We Collect Your Data
We are collecting your data for several reasons:

To enable us to contact you if you need help with resetting your passwords
To help us keep spam to a minimum for the benefit of all genuine users.
To enable the best connection based on your location and our server locations
To provide “best guess” translations when we have the site translated to more languages
To better understand your needs in general - eg: time spent on certain pages
To improve our services and products
To customize our website according to your personal preferences.
To provide us with details so we can make payment to you if you are an Agent, Event Organiser or Promoter.

Safeguarding and Securing the Data
GrabTheTickets is committed to securing your data and keeping it confidential. We have made good and sincere effort to prevent data theft and unauthorized access. We do ask that you do not re-use passwords from other sites and if you do not need us to make payments to you (as an agent or promoter), then please do NOT fill in any bank account details.

Making Payments
When you make a payment to purchase tickets, you will be taken to a Payment Processor - for example Paypal - where you will need to log in to THEIR page securely. At this point we will have no control over your privacy until you return back to our site. Not only do we not retain any of your payment details (eg: credit cards, expiry dates, account numbers), but we never see it to begin with. We simply tell the payment processor how much money we would like - and leave it to you to decide if you want to pay it. If you chose to make the payment, we then provide the tickets. It’s pretty simple on the face of it, but quite clever behind the scenes.

The ONLY Payment Details we retain, are if you choose to complete the bank details in order for us to make payments to you - if you are creating an account to use as an Event Organiser, Agent or Promoter. For ordinary customers that just wish to purchase tickets, you do not need to complete these details - and should leave them blank.

What we *don't* do
As important as explaining what we do with your data - is explaining what we specifically do NOT do.

We do not undertake "data mining", nor do we buy OR sell user data to Third Parties in order to serve you "targeted advertising". We feel this is intrusive and wrong. If you *choose* to share extra data with us, (for example you may OPT to declare your Gender if you wish), then that information has no business being sold to anyone else. So we don't.

Our Cookie Policy
Once you agree to allow our website to use cookies, you also agree to use the data it collects regarding your online behaviour (to analyse web traffic and web pages that people spend the most time on).

This data is not linked to your name or email address - it is anonymised but still provides us with useful information (for example, if people are spending a lot of time on one page, there might be a fault, or there may be something difficult to understand, that we need to simplify).

The data we collect by using cookies is used to customize our website to your needs. After we use the data for statistical analysis, the data is completely removed from our systems.

Please note that cookies don't allow us to gain control of your computer in any way. They are strictly used to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not so that we can provide a better experience for you.

Google analytics may be used by use and adsense trackers may be used if content from other sites is embedded on the page, however you are very welcome to block them if you wish. Please be careful with “blockers” though as they can break pages which need you to complete Captchas and other “wanted” pop-ups, which are helpful - as opposed to nuisance adverts.

We do not have ANY “pop-up” style advert for anyone on our site - and any third party adverts are in context and unobtrusive (for example at the bottom of the page or a Venue Listing might freely give examples of any accommodation / food deals they are offering).

Please try out site WITHOUT using a “blocker” first - we think you will find it works fast, simply, cleanly and honestly. If you DO use a blocker and struggle to make a page work, please try “white listing” that one page in case a badly designed blocker is being over zealous and blocking needed code (eg: a pop up asking which date you want your tickets for).

If you want to, you can also disable cookies, by accessing the settings of your internet browser. If you do this however, you may find you cannot keep “adding things to your basket” as the website will not be permitted to keep a note of what you are wanting to buy. It may be that you can only purchase one item at a time. This is not a fault of the website, but operating without cookies severely limits the usefulness of sites.

Links to Other Websites
Our website contains links that may lead to other websites - for example Venues, Event Promoters and related agents. If you click on these links, GrabTheTickets cannot be held responsible for your data and privacy protection. Visiting those websites is not governed by this privacy policy agreement. Please make sure you read the privacy policy documentation of the website you go to from us.

Embedded content
Some content (especially when it comes to Venues) may contain information that is updated by third parties. We cannot guarantee that this content will always meet with everyone's approval.

Restricting the Collection of your Personal Data
At some point, you might wish to restrict the use and collection of your personal data. You can achieve this by doing the following:

When you are filling the forms on the website, make sure to check if there is a box which you can leave unchecked, if you don't want to disclose your personal information.

If you have already agreed to share your information with us, you can edit your profile at any time - or, if you prefer, you may delete your account entirely. Please note, if there are tickets in your profile for events which have not yet occurred, you cannot delete you profile until the event has occurred. This is to ensure you cannot delete tickets that you have a legal right to!

As soon as you have no “live / valid” tickets left, then if you wish, you can close your account and ALL of your data that we had, will be destroyed automatically other than data relating to purchases for the purposes of accounting or any other legal obligations.

WARNING - If you delete your account entirely, then there is no way back, other than creating a new account from scratch. We do not "hold on" to your data in the hope you will change your mind. If you delete your account, it's gone. Remember, we do not spam and we do not sell your data, you may decide to just keep the account ready for the next time you would like to book an event with us.

GrabTheTickets will not lease, sell or distribute your personal information to any third parties (*see exception below), unless we have your specific permission OR in the case of a purchased ticket or item - where the Event Organisers will need to know your ticket number is valid and your contant information in case there is a delay / change / cancellation. This data will be limited to what it is required for them to do their job for you - to accept your ticket or send you any purchased items for example. They will not be given details of other purchases or other non-related data.

Your personal information will be used when we send you promotional materials if you agree to this privacy policy.

* We may also have to provide any/all personal data if we are ordered to do so by a Court or similar legal authority.

Summary & Request
In short, we try very hard to only use data that is absolutely necessary to provide a good, reliable and safe service for you. And at the risk of repeating ourselves, please do NOT re-use the same password on different sites. You only need to be tricked once, and then someone can access everything you have secured with the same password.

We are constantly evolving, checking and updating our policies in order to safeguard users and to try to make our terms and conditions simple to understand.
